Missing coins

Bath is a very old city in England. It has a beautiful Abbey . Pete and Carla are
students in Bath. They like the city . Pete likes looking at the beautiful old buildings .
Carla likes walking in the little streets. She sits with Pete in a café and
watches the tourists . There are a lot of tourists in the city today . let's find a quiet
street , away from the tourists.(Carla).OK (Pete). he likes being with Carla .this is
pretty (Carla). Look (Pete).that man is playing a flute. let's go and listen . Why is
he playing here ?(Carla asks) . There aren't many tourists in this street . No (Pete) .
And there are only three or four coins in his hat . I know that tune ! (Carla)
. And she puts a coin in the mans' hat. let's go Carla (Pete). the flute player
watches them but his tune doesn't stop . There were only four coins in his hat
(Carla). That's because he isn't very good (Pete). He's playing in the wrong street .
They walk to the next street. There are some old coins and stamps in the shop
window . Pete and Carla go in , and an old man watches them . He is the
shopkeeper . good after noon (shopkeeper). Hi (Pete). Can we look at the
stamps? (Pete asks). They're interesting. (Pete). Yes they are. (shopkeeper)
these are beautiful stamps . (Pete) . The shopkeeper stands near Pete and watches
him. He isn't happy . Why ? (Carla thinks). Are these very old ?(Carla asks)t .
they're 300 years old . (SK). They're very valuable. Every coin in my shop is valuable. A girl is working in the shop , too . she looks at Carla . Carla smiles , but
the girl doesn't smile at her. She isn't very friendly . (Carla thinks)
Suddenly they hear a telephone in the room behind the shop . the shopkeeper doesn't
speak , but he is saying to the girl : Watch these students . Excuse me , he says to
them. Come and see these Carla (P). they're from South America . I want to start
collecting them . They're not friendly , and she want look at the city.(c) they're
expensive . she says . Let's go peter . the girl is happy because we're going . (Ct)
But why? Carla is happy now because they aren't in the shop . Pete wants a drink .
Let's go to a café near the Abbey . there are tables outside the café . Pete and Carla
sit down. Can we go into the Abbey next ? (Carla asks). he wants the stamps from
south America . (Ct) . But they're very expensive . I want a drink first . (P) . Hey !
there you are! Pete and Car la look up. It's the old man from the shop . what does he
want ?(P) I don’t know .(C) he's angry . what's wrong ? He's very angry . Where are
my coins ? he says . I can't understand .They're missing ! Did you steal them ? (SK)
steal your coins ? No ! (C) We didn't steal any coins or stamps . (P). What are you
saying ? you've got my coins . the coins are missing and this isn't first time .
A policeman walks down the street to the café . He says : What's wrong ?
these two students came into my shop . (S) . I went back back into my shop . some
valuable coins were missing . Were there many people in the shop ? (police)
only these two students and Tracy. You can look in my bag . (C) . And you can
look in my pocket . (P) . she gives him her bag . I'm sorry. I was wrong .
But where are coins? He goes back to his shop. Perhaps the coins are in the shop
but he can't see them.(police) We're going to find the man with the flute . which
man ?(police) he plays in the street near the shop. The flute player is going to walk
away but the policeman stops him .Wait (police) We want to speak to you . lm
going to home . (man) No , wait .You have the coins. No! how did he do it?(P) It
was a girl in the shop and we look at some stamps . But how did the flute player
get the coins . ?(police) he was outside the window .(C)the coins went into the
man's hat . after some time a police car arrived . thank you (S). Give Pete stamps
from south America . Then he can start his stamp-collecting today .
